Upgrading VCF 4.1.0.1 to 4.2

In this blog post I will show how to upgrade VCF 4.1.0.1 to 4.2

VMware recently announced VCF 4.2 GA , check its Release Notes .

  1. Navigate to MGMT domain Updates/Patches then run PRECHECK

Apply Configuration drift Bundle

The configuration drift bundle applies configuration changes required for 2nd party software components in the VMware Cloud Foundation Bill of Materials for the target release.

Then you should see a successful update

NSX-T Upgrade

Go back to the MGMT domain and select Updates/Patches view, the next bundle that we need to apply is NSX-T, updating from the current version of v3.0.2 to the desire version v3.1.

After downloading the Package, upgrading NSX-T Edge and NSX-T Host clusters as the below slide show.

Next Step is upgrading vCenter Server

As listed in VCF 4.2 BOM the upgrade will bring the vCenter on version 7.0U1C

Next Step is upgrading the ESXI’s
